Why does wine blending work for corporate team building?
Most corporate team building activities ask adults to play games, and plenty of people quietly watch the clock. Wine blending gives your team a worthwhile task instead: taste the wines, debate the options and agree on a blend each table is proud of. Colleagues who only know each other from email end up in the same conversation, and quieter members of the team find a way in when they defend the blend they argued for. How does a wine blending team event work?
Your group starts by tasting our barrel-aged wines from California and Chile. Then everyone splits into tables of 6 to 12, ideally mixing departments so people work with colleagues they rarely see, and larger groups are spread across several tables. Each table tries different proportions in trial glasses until it agrees on its blend, and a little friendly rivalry between tables usually follows. The wine is then bottled, corked and labeled, and every guest takes a bottle home. The whole session takes about 90 minutes, so it fits easily into a weekday afternoon. What do organizers need to know?
Our winery sits in the middle of Nassau County, a short drive from Bethpage, Melville and Hauppauge, with its own LIRR station in Hicksville for colleagues coming by train. Most companies book a weekday afternoon, which makes the event feel like a reward rather than an extra obligation. Tell us your group size and we will plan the tables around it. Anyone drinking must be 21 or over, so let us know about any guests who don't drink when you book. If bringing everyone to one place is the hard part, our mobile wine truck brings a guided blending session to your office. December dates go quickly, so book early for holiday team building events.
