Started With Grapes and a Simple Belief
Wine has always been more than a drink. It's a tradition, a craft, a reason for people to gather. When founder and chief winemaker Vincenzo Saulle opened wineUdesign in 2010, the goal was simple: create a place where people could take back control of their wine. Together. Where families, friends, and coworkers could roll up their sleeves, crush grapes, blend wine, and bottle something they'd actually be proud to share when breaking bread.
What started as one small idea in Hicksville has grown into a community of more than 1,000 local winemakers who return season after season. Many have been here for over a decade, coming back four or more times a year for Grape Crushes, Wine Pressing, Barrel Tastings, and Bottling Lines. They return because they love the craft, sure. But mostly because they've found their people here.
Barrel Captains & The Community They Built
Our Barrel Captains have turned winemaking into something bigger than a hobby. They involve family groups, neighborhood friends, coworkers, and long-time clients in a shared tradition. What they've built together feels less like a customer base and more like an extended family that happens to make really good wine.
wineUdesign bottles show up everywhere. Engagement celebrations, first dates, anniversaries, retirements, milestone birthdays, and countless Sunday dinners. The wines made here end up on tables across Nassau, Suffolk, and beyond. Poured at holidays, toasted with loved ones, and given as gifts that actually mean something.
